Seven Things on Saturday~Week 2

Well, it's the second week of November. So, today's post is another installment of Seven Things on Saturday, and I have much to be thankful for.
1. I'm thankful for God's Word, which never returns void. I am always blessed by spending time in the Bible, whether I'm reminded of my sin and need for my Savior or assured of God's love for me. His Word is living and active.
2. Grateful for the sounds of my daughter playing in her imaginary world with Legos, or Polly Pockets or her Littlest Pet Shop animals. She has whole dialogues that go on and on. I am amazed by her creativity and wild imagination.

3.  I'm so thankful for opportunities to teach my children about giving to others and sharing the Good News of Jesus with them. Our church is participating in Operation Christmas Child, a wonderful project of Samaritan's Purse. We went to the store together and picked out things such as small toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and small clothing items to fill a shoe box. We will return our box to our church on Sunday and Samaritan's Purse will distribute the boxes to children all over the world, sharing the love of Christ with them.
4.  I appreciate the freedoms we enjoy in our country, even though our preferred candidates may not have won the most recent election. As I was reminded of this week...our hope is in the Lamb of God, not the donkey or the elephant.

5.  I'm so thankful for the fun, safe trip to San Antonio this week. We had such a great time taking in the sights of this city and catching up with extended family.

6.  I am grateful for the sweet friendships that my children have and the families who shower us with kindness.

7.  I'm thankful for the women and men (thanks, Dad) who took the time over the years to show me how to cook. As a result, I enjoy cooking for my family and trying new things in the kitchen.
I'm linking up at some of these great parties and
