Christmas Entryway with Nativity

Ooooh, it's finally beginning to feel like Christmas around here. The temperatures are dropping and there is a definite nip in the air. I've been working on putting together my Christmas Entryway area. I wanted it to showcase my very favorite piece of Christmas decorations...my Nativity.
About 20 years ago, my father was really into woodworking. We made all kinds of Christmas-themed crafts together as a family, both for our family to enjoy as well as to sell in local craft shows. This Nativity was my favorite project. I think we only made this one...my father cut it out of wood and I painted it. After all the time it took to make, we realized it would be best not to try to duplicate it.
Anyway, every year, I make sure to put it out on display, both for the spiritual significance of it and for the labor of love it took to make it. Christmas makes me terribly sentimental ;-)
To round out the vignette, I placed a white pillar candle on either side, as well as some red star tea light holders. I also tucked some real tree trimmings behind the Nativity and added in some diy snow-frosted pine cones (tutorial to come) to tie in the faux snowy garland up above.
My sweet girl picked out this little platter for me two Christmases ago and it seemed like the perfect exclamation for this spot.
Hanging from the snow garland up above is this snowflake made out of clothespins. I saw it here and knew I had to make something like it. In fact, my son was the one who put it together and painted it. I just added a little glitter and a button.

Well, that just about does it for the entryway. It is not flashy or showy... just a simple vignette to showcase the One whose birth we celebrate this month. Rejoice! Thank you so much for stopping by to visit today!
