More Christmas Collections

Hi there, friends! We've been hard at it trying to get the house all gussied up for the Christmas holidays. Even hubby helped get us into the spirit by tuning us into Pandora for some awesome Christmas music. So, yesterday I showed you our snowman collection which I grouped together on the mantle. Today you will see some More Christmas Collections that make their way out of the boxes this time of year.
First up, the gingerbread men (and women). Before my mother passed her snowmen on to me, I was a collector of gingerbread men. I love how sweet and happy they are...perfect for a little touch of Christmas whimsy in the kitchen.
I remember purchasing this sweet miniature hutch with gingerbread men painted on it when I was just out of college and living in Little Rock, AR.
This adorable gingerbread wall hanging melts my heart with its "Recipe for Joyful Holidays" motif. Ideally, it would be in the kitchen with the other gingerbread men, but there is no wall space for it in there.
So, here it is on my long wall between the Christmas tree and the armoire we just moved into the family room this week. {Please forgive my grainy pictures...the lighting in the room and my camera were not playing nice together.}
Speaking of the armoire, did you see the trio of Nutcrackers that sit atop? These guys belonged to my in-laws. After my MIL passed away, they were given to us. My kids look forward to getting these stately nutcrackers out each year. We also have some that are ornaments and are already at their post on the Christmas tree.
I'm so glad you stopped by for a visit today. I have more to show you, so I hope you'll be back to see what other treasures I bring out for this glorious season. So, tell me, how is your decorating coming along? Do you have collections that you bring out year after year?

I'm linking up at some of these great parties and

  7. The gingerbread men are adorable and so perfect for the kitchen. As you mentioned in an earlier post, I feel the same way about using every single piece of decoration that I have, because most have been with us for quite some time. I like to do themes, but I build the themes around what we have and only buy new things that I absolutely love and know will be sticking around for some time to come. So many, many memories!

  10. how sweet! i collect snowmen for winter, b/c they are good for all season, and not really have any religious swaying. not like gingerbread men are religious at all, but you can't confuse them with anything other than xmas. as a household with 2 religions, i like things that are neutral, hence the snowmen.

    i love how you group yours together!
