Orange Cranberry Nut Bread

I pinned this recipe for Orange Cranberry Bread a couple of years ago and have loved making it each Christmas since. The wonderful Christmas aroma that fills your house when you are baking it is amazing! Not only does it smell divine, but it tastes incredible too.
Here's what you need: flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, baking powder, butter, egg, orange juice, grated orange zest, fresh or frozen cranberries, walnuts
In medium bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and baking powder; then cut in the butter until the mixture looks like crumbs.

In a small bowl, beat the egg and add in the orange juice and zest.
Pour into the dry mixture and thoroughly combine. Fold in the walnuts and cranberries.
Pour into prepared pan and bake for 65-70 minutes at 350 degrees.
Orange Cranberry Nut Bread

2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 cup butter
1 egg
3/4 cup orange juice
1 Tbsp. grated orange zest
1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray loaf pan (8x4) with cooking spray.  In medium bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Cut in the butter until it resembles coarse crumbs. In a small bowl, beat together the egg, orange juice and orange zest. Stir into the dry mixture, thoroughly combining. Fold in the cranberries and walnuts. Pour into prepared loaf pan and bake for 65-70 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then remove to wire rack to cool completely.

With the cranberries on sale this time of year, it's the perfect time to make up a few of these loaves to give to teachers and neighbors. I plan to make up a couple of loaves to freeze for later too. What are your favorite sweet breads to make this time of year?
