Sugar 'n' Spice Popcorn

Hi there! I'm so happy you've stopped by. Did you have a good weekend? Are you finished with your lists of presents to buy and treats to make yet? If not, I've got something you are going to want to share with your friends, either at a party or packaged real cute and given as a gift. It is Sugar 'n' Spice Popcorn and it is CRAZY GOOD.
Easy to make and inexpensive too, it is the perfect gift to give to neighbors. My SIL made this one year and we were lucky enough to get some of it too. It was one of those magical moments where you know that your life will never be the same....Okay, maybe that's a bit dramatic, but it certainly left an impression on me.
Here's what you need: popped corn, melted butter, sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon.
Here's how you make it: Combine the melted butter, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg and stir until sugar is mostly dissolved.
Drizzle over the top of the popcorn, stirring to combine. I even put mine in a 2-gallon ziploc bag and shook it up to coat all the pieces with the deliciously spicy blend. Serve immediately, or let it air dry a bit before packaging it, if you can keep your family members' hands out of it. ;-)
Sugar 'n' Spice Popcorn

4 quarts popped corn
2-3 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/3 cup butter or margarine

Melt butter and add sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir until sugar is mostly dissolved. Drizzle over popcorn and toss until well coated. Sprinkle with a little salt at the end.

I'm such a 'cotton-headed-ninny-muggin'...I should have made this when we watched ELF this weekend . Oh, well, there's still The Christmas Story, It's a Wonderful Life, Christmas Vacation...
Speaking of Christmas movies, which one is your favorite?

I'm linking up at some of these great parties and

  2. Hope that would work well with air popped corn. I don't really care for the air popped corn plain, pretty blah tasting, but maybe this would really make it taste yummy. The butter would be somewhat fattening but otherwise hopefully ok for dieters. Seems everybody I would give some of this to are all watching their weight, me included. Great idea for gifts and inexpensive, quick to make. Thanks for sharing a great idea.
    Happy week
