A Very Valentine's Buffet

Well, here we are...the week of all things heart-related! Last week, I had to do a bit of tweaking with my Valentine's decorations to get ready for my daughter's birthday party. Introducing A Very Valentine's Buffet! I moved the Valentine tree from the entry table to my buffet in the dining room. As you can see, I put it in a red bucket I picked up at Goodwill. I also added a red gingham ribbon around it, as well as a gingham bow on top.

Side note...I don't take pictures in my dining room very often because of this ENORMOUS mirrored wall. Taking it down has been on my to-do list since we first moved in over four years ago. Just had to get that off my chest ;-)
The last time my mom visited, she brought some fun Valentine's fabrics to make these little heart pillows. She posted about hers here. I haven't known what to do with mine, until it occurred to me to put them in this pewter pedestal dish with a cloche on top. A Valentine greeting in Scrabble letters seals the deal.
Here's another view of the Valentine's grouping. The "You Are Special Today" was a gift my SIL gave me many years ago. I think I need to bring it out a lot more often. My peeps need the reminder ;-) I love the cheery red color too. It is set up in the plate stand with a couple more fabric pillows. Isn't the teeny tiny one adorable? The birthday girl made that one all on her own.

I must confess that I probably wouldn't have done as much decorating for this holiday had my daughter not requested a Valentine's birthday party. I wanted the decorations to do double duty. So, are you scrambling to decorate for Valentine's Day still? Or have you moved on to Springtime decorations?

  1. Hi Nici...I think I have a total of three things out for Valentine's, and I've blogged about two of them! Shame on me. I love your vignette. The hearts you and Moni made are so cute, and I like how you put them in the cloche. What a pretty pedestal! And the Scrabble letters are adorable. It all looks so cute together!

  20. The Valentine decor - what little there is - will come down on Friday. Did you realize that Easter is at the end of March this year? Time for lambs and chicks and bunnies!
