Hot Buffalo Chicken Dip

Okay, I know the Super Bowl is sooo last weekend, but the food is still in my thoughts. We went to a fun party on Sunday where good food and sweet fellowship was plentiful. Our gracious hosts provided homemade sliders and fixings and a delicious Mac 'n' Cheese made from gnocchi. We were asked to bring a dessert and whatever else we wanted. My mind immediately went to this Hot Buffalo Chicken Dip.
It's another Bunco recipe from years past, except I didn't have the recipe. I had to "wing" it. Haha. (Had to use the pun.) Anyway, I've been wanting to make this dip for a long time and finally had a great excuse to do it. I didn't get any pictures of the process, but it was easy as pie.
Hot Buffalo Chicken Dip

2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
1/3 cup hot wing sauce like Franks
1 8 oz. brick of cream cheese
1 Tbsp. ranch dressing mix

In covered microwave safe bowl, cook cream cheese and wing sauce until the cream cheese is melted. Add in the ranch dressing mix and shredded chicken. Transfer to small slow cooker to keep warm. Or, you could place in a small casserole dish, top with blue cheese crumbles and bake until warm and bubbly. Serve with wheat crackers and celery sticks.
I remember enjoying the flavor of buffalo wings in college, but always hated the messiness of them and the (ahem) calories. With a reduced fat cream cheese and eating the dip with celery, I'm pretty sure all the calories are negated. (wink, wink) Either way, this dip turned out delicious and I'm glad I decided to "wing" it. Oh, for the desserts, I took my Football shaped Chocolate Cutout Cookies and the Crunchy Chocolate-Peanut Stix. Another friend brought the most amazing fruit dip. I hope to get the recipe from her so I can share it with you one of these days. How about you? What was your favorite Super Bowl Food?
