Food for the Soul ~ Isaiah 52:7

Hi friends! I hope you are having a beautiful Sunday! This verse in Isaiah touched me today as I pondered the lives of so many people who have given their all to spreading the Gospel of Jesus, the Good News, to the lost in this world. These saints have given their comforts and securities over to the One who sustains them and supplies their every need. They are being the hands and feet of Jesus on this earth and I am inspired by their sacrifice.

As we enter this Holy Week, I thank God for His unmerited favor and mercy and how the two intermingled in the person of Jesus, especially when He died on the cross taking on my sins and yours. Sweet friends, I pray you know the peace that comes from accepting His gift of salvation. It truly is the gift that keeps on giving. Blessings to you this week!

  1. Nici,
You posted one of my favorite scriptures. This one means a lot to me because I love the idea of being a missionary. In fact, missionary work is important in our family life. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we give up our personal lives for 2 years for the young men and women and 18 months for us seniors. Our 4 sons served when they were 19-21 years old and each served in a different country: Wes, Argentina; John, California, Spanish-speaking; Will, Thailand, Jared, Russia. We and they paid their way. They are married now with families of their own. Then we thought it was time for us to go on our mission. The church called us to serve 18 months in Sierra Leone West Africa, one of the poorest countries in the world. We loved it so much. You can see how through pictures since we kept a blog: eldondiana.blogspot.com. BTW, even tho I comment on Sunday's posts a lot, I still value the other parts of your blog. I have made the butterfly bunting and it is so cute and I've pinned so many recipes from your good resource. Have a great week.
