Recipe for a Happy Home

Today, I thought I'd share with you a recipe of a different sort. This is a Recipe for a Happy Home. I came across it in my trusty recipe box. I had written it down years ago. I don't know the author of it, but I love the reminders it provides.

Recipe for a Happy Home

4 cups of love
2 cups of loyalty
3 cups of forgiveness
1 cup of friendship
5 cups of hope
2 Tbsp. of tenderness
4 quarts of faith
1 barrel of laughter

Take love and loyalty, mix it thoroughly with faith. Blend it with tenderness and forgiveness. Add friendship and hope. Sprinkle abundantly with laughter. Bake it with sunshine. Serve generous helpings daily.

Speaking of things that make me happy, PEONIES make me happy. I even like these artificial ones I picked up at Michael's last week. In lieu of a wreath on my front door, I'm using this white metal basket with the fun pop of color from the peonies. Please excuse the faded door. We have purchased stain for it, but haven't taken the time to do it yet. Soon...very soon. Thanks for stopping by today! Your visits and sweet comments mean so much to me.

  1. What a cute metal basked filled with Spring flowers! It's a Spring thing!!xx

  2. That's a sweet "recipe". I love peonies too and your metal pocket looks great filled with them.

  3. I love the bright pop against the faded door. Beautiful!

  4. The best recipe around, and lovely basket with those pretty flowers, thanks for sharing..

  5. Beautiful recipe :) Soooooooooo true

  6. What a sweet reminder of what makes a happy home. Your basket looks so pretty. I've got the same one, but I think it's in my storage room right now. Your front door looks so pretty, I'm going to have to drag mine out and put some peonies in it! :)

  7. This would be cute printed up like a large recipe card and framed in a kitchen!

  8. I love your recipe today! I also love the metal basket and bright cheery flowers.

    Have a wonderful day!
