Crazy Good Cookie Bars

cake mix cookie bars
It was a cold, rainy kind of day here yesterday. We seem to still be having cold snaps in the weather despite 80 degree days prior. Craziness! Anyway, cold days make me want to bake. Since we had an end-of-season soccer party to go to, I made these Crazy Good Cookie Bars to take to share.
Here's what you need: yellow cake mix, egg, water, butter, brown sugar, chopped walnuts, and chocolate chips.
Start by creaming together the butter and brown sugar.
Add in the water and egg.
Dump in  the dry cake mix and stir to combine thoroughly.
Finally, stir in the walnuts and chocolate chips. Spread the dough in a greased 13x9 pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees.
Remove from oven and cool completely before cutting into bars.

Crazy Good Cookie Bars Topped with Ice Cream
I cannot even begin to describe the decadence of these bars, but I'll try...pure magic. My kids said they reminded them of BJ's Restaurant Famous Pizookies. That's a pretty awesome compliment! The bars came together really quickly and are, as the name implies, crazy good. Their nutty sweetness makes them delicious by themselves or heated up and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I hope you enjoy them as much as we did!
