The Anatomy of an Up-Cycled Sweater

So, last week I shared with you the final Orange Sweater project I had made. It was kind of bittersweet for me, as I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of using up every piece of that gorgeous yard sale find. I'm kind of sad that it is all gone. Throughout the process, I have had several of you question how I could possibly have enough of the sweater left to do all the projects. One reader even asked what size it was. (Small) Today, I will show you the The Anatomy of an Up-cycled Sweater.

I tried to draw out the lines as accurately as possible to give you an exact account of how I used the sweater in all the projects. To see the projects in detail, click on the links. They'll take you right to the individual posts.
Here are all the projects together in the same order as the anatomy diagram (clockwise from top left). From seasonal home decor to DIY accessories, this sweater made them all.  Using what I had in my craft stash, linen closet and a couple of dollars for the vases (1 thrifted and 1 dollar store), together with a little ingenuity, I was able to up-cycle an entire sweater into 8 different projects. Almost every one of the projects could be done in a different colored sweater for a different theme (other than the pumpkins maybe).

I hope you'll be able to see beyond the orange sweater and envision these and other projects to make for yourself for the coming colder weather months. These were all what I would consider 'beginner' projects with no special skills required...just a love for crafting and a little creativity. Your sweet comments throughout the process inspired me to keep going. Thanks a bunch! I was so excited each week to come up with a different project to show you and a little bit sad when I finished the Neck Warmer, the last piece. Don't feel too bad for me yet, I am already starting on disassembling another sweater, although I'm pretty sure I won't be as lucky to get 8 projects out of it. I need some ideas for the sleeves and hoodie part. Do you have any suggestions for me? Have you done any sweater projects in anticipation of the cooler weather?

Classic for sleeves are kids' leggings, fingerless mitts and golf club covers. Glad I just found your blog via Pinterest.
