Christmas 2013 Mantel

Poinsettia and Snowflakes Mantel
Well, here we are with less than 3 weeks until Christmas. Have you finished your decorating? Slowly, but surely, I am decking the halls for the holidays. I really hope to be done soon so that we can enjoy all the decorations that only come out once a year. At least the tree is up and now the mantel is finished too. So, without further ado, I present our Christmas 2013 Mantel.
Poinsettia and Snowflakes Mantel
I kept things pretty simple this year. I normally fill the mantel with my snowman collection (see last year's mantel), but decided to go a different route after I found these gorgeous poinsettias at our local Trader Joe's. I just couldn't resist the beautiful reds of these quintessential holiday plants.

Knowing they would go perfectly with our red and white snowflake stockings, I anchored one on each side of the mantel.

Across the length of the mantel is a faux pine garland/swag that I picked up probably 10 years ago on a trip to Minneapolis. The snow-tipped pine needles add just the right amount of shimmer with the white lights intermingling with them.
Snowflake Stocking Holder
The snowflake ornament hangers kind of blend in with the snowy garland, while the mercury glass candlesticks reflect the beautiful white lights.

We have been in this house for 6 Christmases and this is my first one to just put the "big" tree upstairs in our family room. So, I wanted to make sure we would have the glow of white lights downstairs too. Once we get some wood, I'm sure the fireplace will bring another cozy level to our Christmas mantel.

Thanks for stopping by see how things are coming along here at Posed Perfection. I hope you are enjoying this beautiful season of wonder and joy.

I have a little puzzle for you...There is something missing in the first picture that can be found in all the others. What is it? Good luck!

  3. Looks like the letter 'N' on the second stocking is missing.

Lovely mantel Nici, and no, I haven't done much this year so far, and probably won't. It's different when there are no children home I guess.
