Valentine Stamped Shim Markers

Happy Hump Day! Hope your week is going well. I've been dealing with some nasty seasonal allergies, as well as computer issues. I have a love/hate relationship with technology. Anyway, we're coming up on Valentine's Day in a couple of weeks and I've been doing a little dabbling in the craft department. Remember way back last year when I shared the Shim-tastic Box? Well, I had lots of leftover shims from that project. The ones that were painted white, I turned into these sweet Valentine Stamped Shim Markers.

Nothing fancy, they are an easy way to convey a little message of love and appreciation to someone special in your life.

I simply spread acrylic paint onto the alphabet stamps with a foam brush, and then pressed the stamps onto the painted shims.

I chose some letters that spelled out "love", "hugs" and even "xoxo". (I was inspired to do this while I was stamping the Drop Cloth Heart Pillows.)

You don't have to be limited to Valentine's Day phrases for these markers. You could stamp "Thank You" or "Congrats". How about markers for your indoor herb garden? There are so many possibilities for this simple craft. Get the kiddos involved and let your imagination go wild!

Don't forget to come back tonight at 8pm central for our All Things Thursday Blog Hop. You're sure to find some fun Valentine's Day inspiration and more!

  5. What a GREAT way to turn an ordinary plant into an amazing gift. I love this idea. I recently found a collection of balsa wood planks: Think that will work? If you get a chance I'd love to see this post on my linkup: http://timeforseason.blogspot.com/2014/01/my-favorite-things-saturdays-125.html
