Delicious Fudgy Dairy-Free Brownies

Here's another super easy brownie recipe for you! We had plans to go to our small group on Saturday and I had every intention of making my family's favorite Watkins Brownies to take with us. However, I was running low on brown sugar. I went looking through my trusty recipe box and came across these Delicious Fudgy Dairy-free Brownies from a dear friend of ours. Do you have someone who is allergic to dairy in your house? Now you can make them brownies too!
Delicious Fudgy Dairy-free Brownies

1 3/4 cups sugar
2/3 cup cocoa
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 cup flour
1 cup oil
2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9 x 13 inch pan with cooking oil. In large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients. Mix together and pour into prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes.

I actually added in some milk chocolate chips to my brownies, thus nullifying the "dairy-free" status, but they were just as delicious without the chips. {Warning: it is very easy to under-bake these brownies.  So, if you want the middle to be done, be sure to bake for the longer time.} So, are you an ooey-gooey in the center brownie lover or do you prefer your brownies more cake-like? Do you have a favorite homemade brownie recipe?

  7. I'm sorry....these look delicious, but if the recipe calls for 4 eggs, these brownies are most certainly not dairy free.

    1. Dairy milk comes from cows/bison/goats, not chickens. Sitting in the same section of the dairy aisle does not make it a dairy product.

    2. Dairy is a product of the mammary gland of mammals. Basically, it refers to milk and anything made from milk, like cheese, butter and yogurt. And eggs are not made from milk. They don't even come from a milk-producing animal

  12. As a new person to eating dairy free the transition has been very difficult. My baby is allergic to milk protein and is highly sensitive to anything that has the smallest amount of dairy. As a self proclaimed chocoholic I've wanted to tear my hair out from chocolate withdrawals. This recipe was very delicious! And not only that but my entire family, picky husband included, LOVED these. Thank you thank you thank you!

  17. I'm really annoying, so every weekend I bake these so that my dairy-intolerant room mate has a decent reason to put up with me. Is it manipulative? yes. Does it work? absolutely.

  18. What kind of oil did you use please? Are we talking vege, olive, avocado, coconut, canola?

    1. I just used a vegetable oil... canola would be fine too.

  19. I just baked these and they are chalky and not fudgy at all :( Disappointing. They're passable though so I'm probably gonna eat the entire mediocre pan.
