Food for the Soul ~ Romans 5:5

Hello, dear friends. I've missed you this week. It's been a little nutty around here celebrating my daughter's 10th birthday on Thursday and then gearing up for her party on Saturday. I had a difficult time trying to figure out the details of her birthday and allowed myself to get overwhelmed. Between getting bogged down in the planning stages of the party and then cleaning up the house to prepare for the party, I just couldn't wrap my brain around writing up posts. I could barely complete a sentence just speaking it! Unfortunately, my poor planning forced me to make a choice...writing up posts for this here blog or spending time to make my girl feel celebrated for her big birthday. I know I made the right decision, because my sweet girl who loves to celebrate life said it was her best birthday ever.  It's moments like that that warm a mother's heart.

I did have some dark moments in the midst of the week too. Unfortunately, it's not always just the big, tragic moments in our lives that can squelch our hope. Often, it's the mundane, everyday battles that can make us weary and suck the hope right out of us. How many times does one have to ask her children to pick up the dirty socks off the floor? How many times will they get distracted taking the dirty, wadded up tissues to the garbage can? What's it going to take for them to get along with each other? Arrrgh!

Praise God for His mercy and love! I thank Him for the Comforter and the One who whispers, "It's all going to be fine. Keep planting seeds of Truth. Trust Me." Besides the Gift of Salvation through Christ alone, He has left the Holy Spirit to whisper hope into our very souls. He doesn't always scream it, but in very small ways, shows us that He is in control, and all things will work out for our good and His Glory. What a Savior!

Wishing you a beautiful week! May you always find Hope in Him!

  1. Beautiful scripture! I'm sorry you were overwhelmed with all the party planning but I certainly understand. You made the right choice and I know your daughter loved her celebration! These are "one time" affairs and it's so important to acknowledge them.

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Thank you so much for stopping by to leave a comment. I really appreciate you taking the time to write your words of encouragement. Your sweet notes make my heart smile! Have a delightful day!
