Bunny Love Spring Mantel

Hi friends! How is your week going so far? We're back to doing school and now baseball season is upon us as well. Fun times! Well, I pulled out my Spring/Easter decor box last week and began working on 'springifying' my house. As much as I loved the poinsettias from Christmas and my Valentine's mantel, it was time for a change. I had made the Burlap Wrapped Carrots a couple of weeks ago and really wanted to use them on the mantel. They became the inspiration for my Bunny Love Spring Mantel.

However, in going through my Easter decor, I noticed that my bunnies were looking a bit tired and dated (kinda like me some days). My mom suggested I go looking for some new ones, so I ended up at Pier 1 and found these adorable sisal bunnies.

Here on the left side of the mantel, I have the large sisal bunny and a wire basket filled with spanish moss and the Burlap Wrapped Carrots sitting on top of The Book of Virtues. I just love the color of the spine of the book with the carrots. (Here I go with the orange and turquoise on the mantel again.)
Daffodils and Bunnies
In the middle, I placed a small vase of bright yellow daffodils ~ a beautiful sign of spring.

On the right is the smaller sisal bunny, a miniature twine-wrapped carrot and a couple of vintage Ball jars that I picked up a couple of years ago from my father-in-law's pantry. A little bunch of faux hydrangeas adds a bit more color.

After I had all the elements on the mantel, I still felt like it needed something. I went digging through the Easter box and found my Book Page Butterfly Garland from last year.

It was pretty when I hung it up on the mantel, but it seemed so plain. Not wanting to "reinvent the wheel",  I just used some orange twine and strips of turquoise fabric to give it a little bit more color and texture.

I am totally in love with the fun spring colors. The bunnies and the daffys make me smile too. How is your spring decorating coming along?

  7. Bright colors, especially turqoise or aqua are always wonderful, (particularly in winter). I have a thing for coral and aqua, so soft and pretty together. I painted a table last year those colors which I mixed up to my liking. Love those bunnies, so cute, have seen several like that in stores, some material kind of different. Your mantel is so pretty, I always love daffodils. I'm not a rose lover, love hydrangeas, tulips, daffs much more. We had all of those just pop out among several hostas in yard in KY. It's humid as heck there but so green and so many gorgeous flowers. Now we have very dry and lots of alkali in our yard all over in western CO. I still miss our house and yard in KY.
I loved your book page butterflies with the orange and turq. additions. I haven't done Easter yet for decorating but am sure ready to. Got couple more ceramic bunnies at thrift stores. Guess it's not too early now is it? Hope not as I'm gonna get it all out anyway. Makes me happy to look at it. Been making Spring and Easter banners. Enjoy and happy days
