Whimsical Paper Feathers

With most of the United States dealing with an abnormally cold and long winter, I think we could all use a dose of spring! What says "Spring" more than chirping birds? While this post won't have any birds in it, it will have a few feathers that you can make.
Whimsical Paper Feathers
A couple of weeks ago, I shared pictures from my tween daughter's birthday party where we made these Whimsical Paper Feathers. I love how these turned out and have been making a few more to hopefully put into a vignette or my spring mantel. They were inspired by feathers made of hymnbook pages that I had pinned from here.
Whimsical Paper Feathers Supplies
Here's what I used to make my feathers : scrapbook paper cut to the length of the template and a small strip for the bottom (quill) of the feather, glue, paper-covered floral wire, scissors and a feather template.

Now, you can make your own feathers and it might just put a song in your heart before you hear the birds chirping outside your window. Don't let Jack Frost hijack your spring!

  1. Hi There,
I just LOVE your paper feather tutorial!!! The feathers are lovely and so Springy, in which something we all could use a dose of right now.
I also really like the color combo you used. My daughter was just telling me she wanted to have those colors in he living room. Maybe while I'm making some for myself,I'll make her some :)
    Thanks again for sharing.
