Food for the Soul~ Psalm 139:13~ Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day to all who are celebrating this special occasion today! I chose a verse from Psalm 139:13 to share with you today...because it has to do with the Creator and mothers.
Not only did God create us, but he did it in the very depths of our mothers. And, He did it in a spectacular way! What a privilege to be included in the miracle of life! I love the reference to knitting in this passage. I have never knitted a project that wasn't a labor of love...and that's exactly what carrying, delivering and raising a child is...a labor of love. How precious the connection between a mother and her children! I am so grateful for my mom today.
This woman has defied the odds. She married young, moved to a foreign country where she didn't speak the language, started having children just before the age of 19, lovingly took care of them ~ all while learning the English language and doing what she had to do to help support the family. She has been our cheerleader, our disciplinarian, our nurse, our teacher, our inspiration, our Nana and our friend. I feel blessed that I was "knit together" in her womb. I am so grateful for the love of mothers, especially mine. Wishing you all a very Happy Mother's Day! I pray you are celebrated for the woman God has made you to be and cherished for the role you play in our lives! /
