Washi Tape Frame for Mother's Day or Any Other Day
Okay, I seriously think I am the last person on the planet to use Washi Tape...maybe not on the planet, but certainly in blogland. Last week we wanted to do a fun craft with our 4th grade Women of Grace girls for Mother's Day.
Our little group has grown quite a bit, and quite frankly, most of these girls are not accustomed to doing arts and crafts. We needed something easy to do and relatively inexpensive. We settled on doing these Washi Tape Picture Frames.
My friend, Christe, took pictures of the girls the week before and had them printed out, so all we needed to do was make up some frames to go along with them. Knowing we could have a crowd of girls, we opted to paint the frames beforehand and just have the girls decorate them with Washi Tape...mess free crafting!
We gave them an assortment of tapes to choose from, and they went to town. I wish I would have taken some pictures during their process...it was quite fun watching them all do their own thing. Some were minimalists, others covered all the paint.
Everyone of them was a masterpiece and I know their moms loved getting the pretty frame with the even prettier pictures of their girls.
Because my daughter is in the group also, I was not able to see her creation until Mother's Day, as she wanted it to be a surprise. My sweet girl made a card for me, a drawing and gave me her decorated frame yesterday. I love that she embodies all the colors of the rainbow!
I could see this being a fun birthday party, slumber party or summertime craft too. I think I've got the Washi Tape bug now...What are some fun projects you've done with Washi Tape?
