Food for the Soul ~ I Thessalonians 5:11

Hello, dear friends. I hope you have had a good weekend. One of the things I have loved about blogging is the sweet sense of community and acceptance. You all have been so kind to me the last couple of years, and I love reading the comments you leave for myself and other bloggers. We do our best to build one another up in our "virtual" world, by sharing in social media and complimenting on each other's blog posts.

I wonder, though, how are we doing in our "real world" lives. Are we taking every opportunity we are given to build up and encourage our family members, our friends, and our co-workers? Are we looking for ways to show our appreciation to those who are closest to us? Do we take the time to listen and respond thoughtfully? I can get so wrapped up in my "virtual world" that I start to slack in other areas. I know I needed this reminder from God's Word today... how about you? Wishing you a wonderful week as you seek to know Him more and share His love with others.

  1. Beautifully said Nici! I agree, the blogging community is very supportive and we should strive to be the same with our family and friends. I do try, but at times I need to be a little more supportive. Thanks for sharing with us.

    Have a sweet day,

  2. Hi Nici, I just posted this verse from Thessalonians on another blogger's post last night in relation to blogging itself, and how we are to relate to other bloggers. I agree we sometimes do better with encouraging online than we do with those in our "real world" life, and it's good to be reminded of the need for both. We are Christ's representatives wherever we are, and our actions reflect on Him. Blessings, Nancy

  3. I just wanted to tell you I look forward to every Monday for you "Food for the Soul", I have so many favorite scriptures but I can't decide on just 2 that would be great for a quilt I'm making for my daughter and her family. They are missionaries in Bulgaria and have been for 4 yrs, a lady I met on a quilt blog has offered to sew 2 separate "blocks" each with a verse from the bible for the quilt. So I'm writing down the ones you post on Mondays that I like or think is fitting for them. The quilt will take me at least 6 months to finish as I am just a beginner so I have plenty of Mondays to look forward to your post. Thank you again and God Bless!
