Here we are... just a little over a week from Christmas. I can hardly believe it. I've been trying to take time each day to reflect on the beauty of the season. I hope you've been doing the same. I just love it when the house is all decorated and the twinkly lights illuminate the pretty spaces.
Did you catch my holiday home tour last week? One of my favorite places in the house is my Tranquil Christmas Mantel. I touched on it briefly in the tour, so I thought I'd give you a closer look.
I love how peaceful it is during the day with no lights...
... and when it is aglow with white lights at night.
Our piano teacher gave me some of the fresh clippings from her Christmas tree, so those became the base upon which all the elements were built. I used lots of items I already had on hand, such as the mercury glass candlesticks and wreaths, as well as the sparkly little votive holders.
Some items, like the grapevine tree, were tweaked a little bit with some crocheted snowflake ornaments. Remember the DIY Snow Frosted Pine Cones? I've got them mixed in with some natural ones under a cloche and scattered about.
My driftwood nativity from World Market a couple of years ago found a home up here too.
The "Be Still and know that I am God" sign centers the space (literally and figuratively) with some berry and pine cone picks tucked in for the tiniest bit of color.
The only new items on the mantel are the sweet little felt pine cones I made up a few weeks back. I still owe you a post about these little cuties.
I'll be hanging our stockings up as we get a little closer to Christmas, but for now, I'm enjoying the natural beauty and serenity of my tranquil Christmas mantel. How are your preparations for the holidays coming along?
