It's been an interesting week around here. I started a month of paleoish eating referred to as a Whole30, and it has been quite a challenge. In essence, it means no sugar or sugar substitutes, no dairy, no grains, no legumes and a few other things. Besides the mental part of it (i.e. getting past all the triggers that send me scavenging through the pantry for anything chocolatey), there's the cooking. Yep, 3 meals a day of cooking. I'm used to cooking up a meal for dinner, but breakfast is usually a bowl of cereal or toast and lunch is often a sandwich, with snacks from the pantry in between. Not so this week. As of Sunday, I've been keeping a tight rein on what I'm putting into my body. It feels good to be making healthy choices and eating more veggies, but it is killing me how much cooking and cleaning of dishes I'm doing ;-) That's a bit drastic, I know. Let's just say, it has put a kink in my already topsy-turvy life.
Besides the new way of eating... and living, here's what I've been up to since the last party:
Can you see why this was a favorite? This Baked Chicken and Vegetables by Luv a Bargain is actually something I could eat this month! Looks like healthy comfort food to me!
I am absolutely in love with this DIY iPad or Tablet Holder by Way of the Glue Gun. Not only is the color fabulous, but the cow design is farmhouse chic!
Though definitely not on the plan for me to eat this month, I bet your sweeties would love it if you'd whip up this delicious Warm Triple Chocolate Pudding Cake by A Grande Life.
I love a good before-and-after... This Boho Master Bedroom Reveal by Little Vintage Cottage is whimsical and colorful and just plain fabulous!
Melissa's Cuisine brought this wonderful Stuffed Bubble Pizza to the party and I'm so glad she did. This may be one of the first recipes I try next month when I can add back in some foods.
Julie's Homesteading Journal showed us this sweet handicraft... Spool Knitting. We have done some loom knitting (larger scale than spool) and love it. I can't wait to try this form with adding in beads!
Valentine's Day is right around the corner! These Linzer Tart Cookies by Cooking on the Front Burner would be an adorable treat for the special people in your life!
Last, but not least, Typically Simple brought this Stenciled Valentine's Day Canvas. Love how simple and sweet it is, especially if you own a vinyl cutter. I really dig the glittered heart too!
