Hello, dear friends. I hope today finds you well. Since we are officially into February, I thought I'd start the month off with a Bible verse about love... and our relationships with others. Proverbs 10:12 says, "Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses."
Hatred is that thing that keeps a record of wrongs and uses it against others. It's built up over time and stirs up trouble, fanning a flame of distrust amongst neighbors. It doesn't let go of the past and certainly doesn't allow us to forgive others. Love, however, is almost a by-product of forgiveness. Once we choose to forgive, love in the form of grace, blankets the offenses and restores peace to the relationship. Just as Christ loved us (when we were in the midst of sin) and even died for us, we should love one another... even when they blow it. How many times do we let petty grievances come between us? Let's make this a week where we cover over those trespasses with love. May your week be full of the warm blanket of love!
