Hello Friends! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far. There's something that's been on my heart a lot lately as I peruse the different social media channels. Wisdom... I think we can easily fall into the trap of subscribing to the "world's" view of wisdom instead of God's view. The words could come from "friends", famous celebrities, respected religious leaders, or even cartoon characters.
It seems like when we are hurting, it's all to easy to see, believe and then share a pop-psychology graphic rather than seek out how the Lord would have us respond to the hurt. We need to make sure we are running these quotes through the grid of God's Word to see if it matches up with how He would have us respond to the wrongs done to us (or those we've done to others), rather than just taking it as gospel and perpetuating it through the social media channels.
The book of James gives us a pretty good idea of that grid, "But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere." May we all seek this wisdom with our whole hearts so that we might be made complete, lacking in nothing. Have a beautiful week!
