Well, as much as I hate to admit it, the school bells will be ringing very soon. That's right. Kids will be shuffling through the corridors of the halls of education, chatting with friends and catching up on all that happened over the summer. All that togetherness of lazy summer days will fade into rushed schedules and families feeling a sense of disconnectedness. It doesn't have to be that way. We can still let our kiddos know we are thinking about them by leaving encouraging lunch box notes.
While shopping for school supplies recently, I ran across some removable Chalkboard Tape. The wheels in my brain started spinning on all the ways I could use it. As I started thinking about the inevitable process of making lunches, the idea of leaving notes of encouragement for my kids came to me. My kiddos only go to a school once a week, as we homeschool the rest of the time. However, when they are away, I want them to know that I'm thinking about them.
From inspirational Bible verses to funny jokes, the possibilities are endless on what you can write on these pieces of chalkboard tape.
Just jot down a quick note with chalk on the tape, and adhere it to the inside of your child's lunch box.
When she opens it, she'll see the sentiment and know that you are thinking about her. This is a pretty discreet way of letting your pre-teen know how much she means to you... or even your teenage boy who may like to know you are pulling for him to ace that big test. Each day you can wipe the slate clean and write a new message to share with them at lunchtime.
