Food for the Soul ~ Revelation 4:11

Praising God today for His majesty, His creativity, His love and His mercy! Isn't it wonderful that He shares all this beauty with us?

“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” Revelation 4:11

Well, we are just coming off of an amazing week. My kids and I spent the week at our church's Kids Kamp, which is just an amped up version of VBS. I had the privilege of working on the Art Team, sharing some fun projects with the Kindergarten through 4th grade campers. What a joy it was to see the excitement on all these kiddos' faces! There's just something so amazing about seeing over 1000 kids singing praises to God and watching many of them accept Jesus as their Savior.

I was just thinking about all the work that goes into making a production like this go well. It all goes back to God's grace, His love and His mercy. He has equipped all the leaders, brought the kids who needed to hear His Word, and caused all the logistics to fall into place so that He may receive the glory and we receive the blessings. I hope you have a wonderful week!

Creative Ways Link Party #59 and Features

Happy Wednesday! Welcome to the Creative Ways Link Party! Hope your week is going well so far. We are in the middle of our church's Kids Kamp week, so it's been a little nutty around here. I'm helping out with the ART team doing a few fun projects with the 1200+ kiddos that are attending the camp. I'm having a ball, but am totally spent at the end of the day. On top of the camp, we've had baseball practices, musical auditions, swim parties and lunches with friends. So, in other words, I have not had a chance to go around and visit all the wonderful links from last week's party.

So, instead of me choosing the features this week, I thought I'd feature the first post linked up, the last post, and the one with the most views... I should be back to the regular features for next week. Thanks so much to everyone for linking up! I really do appreciate you coming to the party each week and sharing all your awesome posts!

The first post shared at last week's party was this DIY All Purpose Cleaner by The Organized Life! Just a couple of pantry staples and you've got a great multi-surface cleaner!

The last post was Messages from my Garden by My Thrift Store Addiction. I love the sweet words she has displayed all through her outdoor spaces!

The post with the most clicks was Decorating with my Recent Finds by Anderson & Grant. She always puts together beautiful vignettes!

Food for the Soul ~ Deuteronomy 6:5 ~ Happy Father's Day

Hi Friends! Hope you are enjoying this beautiful Sunday where we celebrate our fathers. Although, I'm not able to be with my father this weekend, I was able to spend some time with him recently. One thing I know about that man is that he loves his family and adores all his grandchildren.  He's the kind of guy that will bend over backwards to help out people and is always generous. He can be tough as nails and stubborn as all get out, but at the core is a tender, young-at-heart, big ol' teddy bear. Over the years, he has done many things right... and made some mistakes along the way too. God is not finished with him yet. Like all of us, he is a work in progress. I am blessed to have him as my dad and even more blessed to have him as my friend. I love you, Dad!

I'm so grateful also for the father that my husband has grown into. We can speculate what kind of father our husbands will be before we have children, but no one can know for sure. It has been such a privilege to watch him love on and encourage our children. He is patient, kind, loving, gentle... pretty much the all the fruits of the Spirit wrapped up into one guy. I have loved watching the Lord grow him into the man he is today. Oh, how I love that man!

I'm thankful for my father-in-law too. He poured God's Word and his love for Jesus into his boys from a young age. His prayers for us and encouragement to walk with Jesus have been a sweet demonstration of his love for his family.

For those whose fathers are no longer here with you, I pray that today would be a day that brings special memories to mind. May the sweet thoughts bring smiles to your faces and joy to your hearts!

Perhaps your earthly father was not around or even worse, left scars upon your heart. For those dear souls, I pray your heart would be healed and filled up with love and joy by your Heavenly Father. He loves you much and desires nothing more than a real relationship with you. So much so, that He gave up His Son's life so that you could have eternal life with Him.

For this week's bible verse, I chose the verse we will be focusing on this week at our church's VBS. Not only is it a great reminder for each of us, but it is a perfect charge for the special men in our lives too!

    Wishing you a wonderful week!

Creative Ways Link Party #58 and Features

Happy Wet Wednesday to you! Tropical Depression Bill is sitting right over our city and dumping out lots of rain. I'm curious if any of you have been affected by him too. Well, regardless, I'm happy you're here to join me for the Creative Ways Link Party. You are bound to find tons of fun posts to inspire you!

Choosing features is always a difficult task, but this week was especially hard. Kudos to all of you!  I couldn't believe all the awesome material you brought to the party. Still... I had to pick a few to feature. So, here are the some of the ones that made me do a double take.

Aren't these Alcohol Ink Votives by Bitz & Giggles just the coolest? I love the fun colors she used and how easy it would be to use jars and votives I already have to make up a few of these!

Caramel Honeycomb Snack Mix by Upstate Ramblings sounds like a great snack to put together to take to all those baseball tournaments we're attending each weekend. Love this flavor combo!

This Bon Voyage Duffle Bag by Sew Can Do just makes me smile. I love the super-cute fabric she used and the tutorial she shared makes it seem like even I could make up one of these adorable bags.

With Father's Day coming up soon, I could see my hubby loving these Mini Filet Mignons by Sweet & Savory by Shinee. I might need to make up some of these for him this weekend.

How cute is this USA Map String Art by Lovely Etc via Domestically Speaking? Wouldn't it be an adorable patriotic touch for the 4th of July? Or, how about making one for a Father's Day gift using a state map? Love this project!

These Triple Layer Brownies by Yesterfood are on my list to make for Father's Day treats. The three words in her post that got me?  Oatmeal...Brownie...Fudge. Hubby is going to love these! Thanks for bringing them to the party!

Food for the Soul ~ Psalm 31:24

Need a little encouragement today? God's Word is filled with it. This verse from Psalm 31 spoke to my heart this weekend. Praying you are encouraged by it too!

Wishing you a week full of the strength and courage that comes from our all powerful, all knowing, full of love and grace God!

Creative Ways Link Party # 57 and Features

Yikes! I almost didn't get the party started on time! I was having too much fun hanging out with a sweet friend while our kiddos went off to play together. Summertime is great for that... losing yourself in conversation with dear friends, laughing, sharing your heart, musing over how fast our little boys are turning into young men... Anyway, all that fun friend time distracted me... in a good way, of course. So, here we are. Thanks so much for joining me for the 57th Creative Ways Link Party!

You all continue to amaze me with your creativity! Here were some of the awesome posts shared at last week's party:
Are these Apple Rose Puffed Pastries by To Simply Inspire just adorable, or what? I have to try these very soon!

This DIY Bathtub Shelf by ChicByTab would be a great little project to work on this summer!

You have to check out this Homestead Company Chicken by Granny Fabulosa. Not only does it sound delicious, but I love the stories she told of the "old fashioned" way to cook.

This DIY Scarf Storage by Sparkles in the Everyday is a fabulous way to organize those accessories!

I'm ready to whip up some of this Lime Posset with Fresh Raspberries by Love Bakes Good Cakes. It looks so light and refreshing!

I'm totally in love with this Repurposed Shelf Herb Garden Box by Bless'er House. I seem to have a thing for natural wood colors right now. It's especially pretty with the bright green herbs!

          Cinnamon Chip Apple Bread

Are you like me and hate to throw out produce? It seems like I always have some kind of fruit that hasn't gotten eaten at its peak of ripeness. When that happens, and it happens frequently (must be too many other snack choices), I like to use it up in baked goods. That's exactly what happened when I made up a loaf of this Cinnamon Chip Apple Bread.

Layers of apple with a good dose of cinnamon are baked into this delicious, aromatic Cinnamon Chip Apple Bread.

It's loaded with layers of apple and sprinkled with cinnamon chips throughout. Somehow the fruit magically turns edible and preferable to any other snack in the house ;-).

Layers of apple with a good dose of cinnamon are baked into this delicious, aromatic Cinnamon Chip Apple Bread.

This bread smells absolutely divine and is better than any plug-in air freshener!

Layers of apple with a good dose of cinnamon are baked into this delicious, aromatic Cinnamon Chip Apple Bread.

          Cinnamon Chip Apple Bread

          1/2 cup packed brown sugar
          1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
          2/3 cup sugar
          1/2 cup softened butter
          2 eggs
          2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
          1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
          1/2 cup milk
          1 cup cinnamon chips
1-2 apples, peeled and finely chopped

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare 9x5 inch loaf pan by coating with baking spray (or grease pan and dust with flour). In small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon, set aside. In stand mixer bowl, cream together sugar and butter; add in eggs one at a time followed by the vanilla. Slowly add flour and baking powder, then milk, mixing to combine. Stir in cinnamon chips. Pour half of mixture into prepared pan. Sprinkle half of the apples over the batter, followed by half of the cinnamon/brown sugar mixture. Gently press into the batter with spatula. Pour remaining batter over the apples. Finish by sprinkling the rest of the apples and cinnamon/brown sugar mixture. Press into the batter. Bake for about 50 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Layers of apple with a good dose of cinnamon are baked into this delicious, aromatic Cinnamon Chip Apple Bread.

So, if you find yourself with a couple of apples that are past their prime, don't throw them away! Throw them in a loaf of this Cinnamon Chip Apple Bread instead! Your tastebuds will thank you, and so will the snackers in your house.
