Food for the Soul ~ Psalm 105:1-4

Happy New Year, friends! I hope you've had a wonderful holiday season. As we begin 2016, I felt it was only right to start off with giving thanks to the Lord. He has shown kindness upon kindness to me this past year, especially through some painful trials. While I don't have a specific "word" for this new year, my heart keeps reflecting on the notion of counting. Whether it is counting the blessings He has given us, or 'counting it all joy' through the trials, I know He is faithful to bring to fruition that which He has planned. (His plans are to prosper us, not harm us. ~ Jeremiah 29:11)

Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice! Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually! Psalm 105:1-4

Also, I saw this post on Facebook this week about asking the LORD to "make it count" for something when we encounter troubles or have to go through trials. I thought it was a wonderful way show trust in our Heavenly Father's plans. He is good all the time, and worthy of all our praise! Here's to a wonderful 2016!
